Gorges du Verdon

Just two hours from Nice loom the spectacular Gorges du Verdon. While the road winds atop steep drops, the Gorges can be best enjoyed via hiking, mountain biking or exhilarating white-water rafting. A stay at nearby Chateau de Trigance is a must.

ILE de porquerolles

Quintessentially off-the-beaten-path, the Ile de Porquerolles is one of the few places left in France where cars are not allowed. Accessible via ferry, the island offers quaint hotels and stunning beaches. Sitting in a peaceful square while sipping a glass of rosé, it’s not hard to imagine what Provence may have felt like way back in the day.

Eze

Though located minutes from the busy metropolis of Nice, Eze is out of the way perched on a steep hill that offers one of the most breathtaking views of the entire French Riviera. Once the daytime visitors have left, spending the night in Eze means enjoying the utmost peace and quiet surrounded by unforgettable views of the Mediterranean coast.

Cassis and the Calanques

Cassis is an adorable small harbor town lined with cafes which also boasts a large pebble beach. It is full of life in the summer and blissfully peaceful in spring and fall. Best of all, it is the starting point for a visit by boat to the Calanques, the unique and unparalleled white cliffs that separate Cassis from Marseille, where you’ll find tucked-away beaches not accessible by car.
